Sorry.....

Let me start with a story a co-worker told....(leaving names out).  Her son went to get a hair cut....when the hair dresser got done cutting his hair she realized what a poor job she did and handed him a card.  The card from this unnamed shop was a Sorry Card.  Sorry for such a bad hair cut ....here's a coupon for another.  I still laugh and find it hilarious when I think of it.  Who in their right mind would go back to the same shop after a chop job was done on your hair?  LOL.  Anyway this leaves me to my story.  My husband usually always clips our dog but he has been very busy with work and I really would like for him to have as much relaxing time when off as possible.  The other day I got the bright idea to clip our dog myself (never having done this before...EVER).  I thought how hard could it be.  I will just give him a trim with a pair of scissors.  Well, I started and kept trimming, then I needed to even this and even that and before you know it....the dog was pretty much all clipped up.  When I looked at him I realized I goofed up.  My mini-poodle has his own look now and not such a good one.  Poor pooch I felt so bad for him I was wishing I had a Sorry Card to hand him!!!

  1. awwww, poor pup! I'm sure you can make it up to him with a treat. As for the friend...wow, don't think I'd go back. Who makes up cards like that expecting to do a crappy job on peoples hair?? But then again, my last do wasn't so great...hmmmm.

  2. Better your dog than your husband! I cut my husband's hair with clippers...had been on him about just shaving his head...I mean, it's coming...embrace it. So one evening, I picked up the clippers, started with a strip right up the middle of the back of his head, and Ohhhhh fuuuuddddggge (except I didn't say fudge)... The guard had fallen off. I shaved a big bald strip right up the back of his head. Nothing to do other than shave the rest. I'm not sure he fully believes it was an accident (it was!!!), but he still trusts me to cut his hair.

  3. I used to give my old Saint Bernard a buzz cutt ecvery spring. She loved it and I loved not having big clumps of her winter coat to deal with. I also had a Collie............ he did not like the process, but tolerated all my attention. Let me just say that this was not a good idea, since part of the appealing look of the Collie is his hair. He looked like a deranged hyenna!!

  5. A sorry card...! I love it...! Do you think your little poodle knows he got a clip job? *heh* He probably still loves you anyway. :-)

  6. Luckily, dogs rarely look in mirrors. My first thought about the "sorry card" was also along the lines of who would deliberately return to a place which did such a horrible job? That hairdresser was a bit fuzzy on the concept.
